More than $4 million in inventory was sold recently when WCA held a heavy equipment auction at its auction yard in Perris, Calif. Of the 1,000-plus people in attendance, more than 800 were involved in the auction bidding.

Attendees had the opportunity to bid on 480 drive-thru lots, 350 stationary lots and several hundred smaller tools and attachments.

More than 82 percent of all the bidders present were repeat customers and of all the sellers, 74 percent had sold with WCA at least once. Of the sellers offering items, 24 percent had sold with WCA 12 or more times.

The biggest seller of the afternoon was a 2003 Putzmeister TB105 conveyor that sold for $150,000.

Other highlights included a 2000 Cat 325BL excavator that brought in $59,000 and a 2002 Cat 320C excavator that got a winning bid of $58,000.
