Construction Equipment Guide

The 38.5 ton (35 t) Doosan DX300LL log loader features a fully guarded, heavy-duty undercarriage and upper structure designed specifically for forestry applications.

The DX300LL is equipped with a high-walker car body with an overall width of 11 ft. 10 in. (3.6 m) and ground clearance of 31 in. (79 cm). Tracks feature heavy-duty chain with 28-in. (71 cm) double grouser shoes and full-length heavy-duty track guiding guards. Heavy-duty top rollers come with special clean-out brackets in place of standard carrier rollers, and final drive motors are protected by heavy-duty guarding.

The upper structure offers heavy-duty mainframe reinforcement, full under-house plate guarding, integral heavy-duty catwalks, armored side doors with guarding over the pump and radiator doors and heavy-duty undercarriage guarding. The cab features a 4-ft. (1.2 m) riser with guarding and hydraulic tilt.

The DX300LL has an operating weight of 77,382 lbs. (3,510 kg) with factory-installed log loading front with live heel. Maximum loading reach at ground level is 38 ft. 3 in. (11.7 m). Lift capacity at ground level over the front at 20 ft. (6 m) is 29,300 lbs. (13,290 kg). Lift capacity at ground level over the side (or 360 degrees) at 20 ft. is 20,950 lbs. (9,503 kg).

Powered by a 6-cylinder Doosan diesel engine with 202 gross hp (150 kW), the DX300LL features a high-pressure common rail direct fuel injection system and four valves per cylinder for improved combustion efficiency and reduced particulate matter. Engine emissions are well below values required to meet Tier III standards.

An electronic power optimizing system (EPOS) maximizes machine productivity while minimizing fuel consumption. The EPOS connects the excavator’s hydraulic system and engine controls via a data transfer link. Advantages include the availability of a power mode and a normal operating mode for maximum efficiency under all conditions; electronic control of fuel consumption; automatic deceleration for even more fuel savings; and regulation and precise control of the hydraulic flow rate required by various machine components, according to the manufacturer.

Long maintenance intervals and easy access to service points increase machine uptime and productivity. Examples include centralized grease inlets, wide side access doors for cleaning radiators and coolers, boom pivot bushings with greasing intervals of 250 hours, bucket pins with greasing intervals of 50 hours and a large-capacity engine air precleaner that removes more than 99 percent of airborne particles and extends filter cartridge service life.

The all-weather steel cab features a reclining, height- and weight-adjustable suspension seat with headrest and adjustable armrest. Joystick controls telescope up and down based on operator preference. A multi-function color LCD monitor panel displays a variety of machine information, including operation history, flow rate control and filter/oil information.

Easy-to-operate joystick controls facilitate precise machine movements. In addition, the sound-suppressed cab keeps machine noise as low as possible to reduce operator fatigue. The noise level at the operator’s ear is 73 dBA while the noise level for bystanders is a very low 104 dBA.

The DX300LL is covered by a 48-hour parts guarantee. The program guarantees that if a “machine-debilitating” part is needed, Doosan will deliver this part to the end user within two business days or Doosan will pay for a replacement machine rental.

In addition, Doosan is now offering new financing and leasing options through Doosan Global Finance.
