Construction Equipment Guide

The Michelin BibSteel hard-surface radial joins the Michelin BibSteel all-terrain tire as part of the company’s compact line offerings. The Michelin BibSteel hard-surface tire succeeds the Michelin Stabil’XZSL radial.

“We have experienced a tremendous response to the BibSteel all-terrain radial,” said Bob Rees, North American product manager of Michelin North America agricultural tires. “With a robust, all-steel casing and belt package and enhanced traction, the BibSteel all-terrain is the ideal product for the vast majority of the skid steer market, including job sites, construction and road work. The BibSteel hard-surface, meanwhile, delivers all of the same features as the Bibsteel all terrain with a tread design specifically suited to provide excellent performance and maneuverability on hard and smooth surfaces.”

Rees said engineers updated the design of the Michelin Stabil’XZSL tire, the first radial designed for skid steers, to deliver the Michelin BibSteel hard-surface radial.

“There are three key benefits to the Michelin BibSteel hard-surface radial,” Rees said. “First, it retains the proprietary rubber compound that delivers the longevity our Stabil’XZSL is known for. Second, it has all-steel casing and crown plies for durability. And third, the BibSteel Hard-Surface radial features a rim guard and better sidewall impact and puncture resistance, which is critical on debris-strewn job sites.”

The Michelin BibSteel Hard-Surface radial will be available in the second quarter of 2011 in these sizes:

• 10R16.5 (265/70R16.5)

• 12R16.5 (305/70R16.5).
