The Nursery Growers of Lake County Ohio, an association serving nurseries in Northeastern Ohio, held its 43rd Annual Nursery Field Day on Aug. 10 at the Lake Metroparks Farmpark in Kirtland, Ohio.

The event is designed to allow attendees an opportunity to visit old friends and make new ones while swapping tips and ideas about nursery growing in Ohio. With more than 100 exhibitors, there was plenty to do and see at the one-day event.

As well as the equipment and supplies on display, the event also featured equipment demonstrations, family oriented activities, workshops and the Ohio Certified Nursery Technician testing.

Recently, Lake Metropark, which has management responsibilities for more than 8,000 acres in the county, and the local nursery industry have worked on a number of projects and events on lakeshores and preserves along rivers and streams. In some instances, former nursery land has been transferred to park holdings. The Lake Metroparks Farmpark was developed to provide a history of the area’s agricultural heritage.
