Beard Equipment Company, a John Deere equipment distributing company based in Mobile, Ala., announced that its “RENT PINK” project has almost reached 50 percent of its total goal in the yearlong support effort. The “RENT PINK” project, which started on Oct. 1 of 2012, has rented a special pink tractor to customers and local businesses in an attempt to raise donations, awareness and support for fighting cancer, with all rental revenue going to USA Children’s & Women’s Hospital and the USA Mitchell Cancer Institute.

Beard plans to continue renting out the Pink Tractor for the remainder of the year, exceeding the $60,000 - $70,000 original goal by capitalizing on the interest of the local businesses around the area. Kristen Beard DeLaney of Beard Equipment Company is excited by the prospects of introducing her company’s enthusiasm to the many customers who share in her support for cancer research.

“While launching our wellness program we recognized that employees, customers, relatives and friends have in some way been touched by cancer,” said DeLaney. “We at Beard Equipment wanted to make a contribution to help make a difference.”

As the project continues to gain traction around the surrounding Alabama and Florida gulf areas, Beard intends to keep “RENT PINK” on the forefront by displaying the attention-getting pink tractor at all seven Beard locations. The company would like to thank and recognize these customers and employees who have rented the machine thus far: Wilkins Miller Hieronymus, Remedial Services, Summit Industries, Evans Contracting, Bartl Farms, Blue Owl, Suhor Industries, D & D Site, Costello Industries, Classic Pools, Lynn Nolen and RBM Contracting.
