The Toro grapple rake attachment, for use with Toro Dingo compact utility loaders, is ideal for picking up and removing trees, bushes, roots and rocks — as well as demolition and construction debris.

“The grapple rake attachment is the perfect solution for contractors who require a tool that is able to lift, place, and remove objects that are too heavy for hand labor,” said Greg Lawrence, marketing product manager for Toro’s Dingo product line. “And contractors can use this attachment to rake and dig in a multitude of ground conditions.”

The Toro grapple rake attachment is 34.5 in. (87.6 cm) wide, weighs 270 lbs. (122.5 kg) and includes two hydraulic cylinders. Its compact design allows operators to fit through gates and narrow access openings to pick up materials.

According to Lawrence, the grapple rake attachment is meant to be used in a rugged fashion because it provides enhanced power for clamping and holding. Its clamping force from tip to tip is 3,000 lbs. (1,361 kg), and its tines are strong enough to dig up roots and rocks.

“The thick AR400 teeth of the grapple are nearly four times stronger than regular steel and almost three times as hard — making it one of the strongest and most durable grapples on the market,” said Lawrence.

The grapple rake operates much like a bucket when used with the Toro Dingo loader, he explained. Operators can raise and lower it, as well as roll it over and back-rake material away from buildings and fence lines. The grapple rake also will till and comb the soil, push objects, and remove items from the ground without picking up topsoil.

“This attachment is ideal for any contractor who needs to gather and move piles of brush, storm debris, or construction materials,” said Lawrence. “It’s also a handy tool for stacking rocks and timber and handling other heavy loads.”

The grapple rake is one of more than 35 attachments that make the Toro Dingo system versatile enough to meet the needs of virtually any contractor.
