The Maxi-Heat MH500iQ offers the same features of the Maxi-Heat1000 while offering a number of updated features to enhance operation and serviceability.

The new MCS dual heat exchangers produce a maximum of 1 million combined BTUs. They may be operated independently depending on heating requirements. Standard 16 in. (40.6 cm) heater outlet flanges and optional flexible ducting provide a wide variety of heat distribution options.

The iQ analyzer detects the environmental temperature and pressure, suggests the correct setting of the burner and automatically configures the nozzle, eliminating the need to change the nozzle as the altitude changes, according to the manufacturer.

The MH500iQ eliminates manual nozzle changes while minimizing oil consumption. The target temperature is achieved by modulating the power with the double nozzle feature and the electronic control, avoiding the start and stop of the heater, which can be hard on equipment.

The heat exchangers are designed to tolerate changes in altitude and decrease bacharach smoke.

Efficiency is gained due to dents on the wall of the heat exchanger that increase turbulence and the exchange of heat. A probe at the end of the heat exchanger measures the heated temperature and transmits to the iQ, which eliminates the thermoswitch. The external surface of the heat exchanger is kept cool from an airflow chamber in-between the combustion chamber and the exterior of the unit increasing safety and efficiency.

Most of the electrical parts have an easy unplug function when maintenance is necessary and do not require hard wiring easing serviceability. Removable bolted windows at the end of the chamber give access to the heat exchanger for easier cleaning and re-assembly. The MCS500iQ is robotically welded, reducing the risk of failures and improving quality.

The Maxi-Heat MH500iQ has a 250 gal. (946 L) fuel tank capacity which provides more than 30 hours of continuous operation without refueling. Cat or optional Isuzu liquid-cooled 1,800-rpm diesel engine with 9 kW transformer-regulated generator provides power to operate heater blowers and safety systems.

The combustible gas detection system (optional) powers down the unit and operates a visual strobe alarm before gas accumulation approaches potentially explosive levels, providing increased safety when used near well heads in gas or oil fields.
