Construction Equipment Guide

The new Favelle Favco Model 60T telescopic boom, crawler crane with 60-ton (54 t) capacity and a 4-section, 105-ft. (32 m) boom tip is built on a Caterpillar Model 325 excavator power module. The crane is powered by a quad turbocharged 168-hp (125 kW) Cat diesel engine with automatic engine control and an electronic power unit control with backup system.

For operator convenience, the quiet Caterpillar cab has ergonomic control placement using a joystick for swing, boom elevation, telescopic main hoist and auxiliary hoists. Foot controls are used for the travel functions. A push button on the joystick extends or retracts the machine’s tracks from 9 ft. 9 in. (3 m) in the stowed configuration to 14 ft. 7 in. (4.4 m) at full width.

In the working mode, the crane weighs 117,000 lbs. (53,070 kg); but for transporting, the weight can be reduced to less than 100,000 lbs. (45,359 kg). The standard winch uses a 2-speed motor with 16,610 lbs. (7,534 kg) maximum line pull holding 656 ft. (200 m) of line.

Among the options is a 33 to 57.4-ft. (10 to 17.5 m) offsetable telescopic lattice boom extension that increases overall tip height to more than 172 ft. (52 m).
