The sports park's groundbreaking took place in 2022, and construction was completed in two phases. The first phase of the sports complex will include volleyball and pickleball courts, and an indoor turf field for a few different sports such as baseball, football and lacrosse, among others, with a 4,000-seat multipurpose arena.

The venue also boasts one of the area's only NHL/NCAA regulation-size ice sheets and a 1,500-seat ice rink. The project is made possible through a public-private partnership with the city of Overland Park, state of Kansas and Price Brothers. Florida-based sports facility company SF Network has been hired to manage the facility.
