A.E. Finley has recently enhanced its product offerings by becoming a Signature full-line New Holland dealer in the state of North Carolina and in the western portion of South Carolina. The company took over the line officially in mid-March.

According to Bob Austin, president of A.E. Finley, based in Raleigh, this new addition will offer its customers the “opportunity to purchase a wider range of products from one equipment dealer and one manufacturer.” By offering the broad base of products under the New Holland umbrella, the company will expand its customer base in the Carolinas.

The full line of New Holland products includes articulated trucks, skid steer loaders, backhoe loaders, motorgraders, dozers, wheel loaders and other products, Austin said.

“We are just now getting geared up and beginning to receive our inventory. We are really excited about the account,” Austin remarked. The company will be offering a fully trained parts and service staff as well as sales representatives who are experienced with the New Holland product line, he added.

Other than New Holland, A. E. Finley also represents Cedarapids asphalt paving equipment; Bomag compaction equipment line, E.D. Etnyre asphalt distributors and spreaders, Gomaco concrete paving products, Allied hydraulic hammers, Efficiency trench boxes and shoring equipment, Kobelco-America excavators, Ranco bottom dump trailers and a variety of other equipment.

The company has 42 full-time employees with parts and service experience in its four branches in Raleigh, Charlotte and Leland, NC, and West Columbia, SC.

A.E. Finley Co. was founded in 1956 by Finley and his four associates, D.J. Jones, Harry Curtis, Patches Meares and W.D. Page, Austin noted. It was born out of North Carolina Equipment Co., which was Finley’s original company. “We were originally a holding company for all of Mr. Finley’s operating companies from Virginia to Florida,” Austin explained. In the late 1950s, the budding business became a general equipment company.

Austin started with the company in 1962 as the forklift truck salesman for the state, then soon became the general line salesman based at the Charlotte branch. He soon became the branch manager of that facility. In 1994, Austin was named the vice president of sales and six years later became president of the company based in Raleigh.

For the future, Austin said the company does have plans to expand with additional facilities in both North and South Carolina. It recently opened its Leland location.
