The Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM) announced the 2014 recipients of the annual Pillar of the Industry awards. Winners are member companies who have achieved Gold-Level status in the association’s I Make America pro-manufacturing advocacy campaign.

I Make America promotes policies that create more jobs in the United States and keep the nation’s economy competitive with other countries. It has enlisted the support of more than 39,000 people to date nationwide.

Gold-Level supporters have achieved participation benchmarks marking them as industry leaders. The awards recognize their tremendous dedication to the people and communities of the equipment manufacturing industry through activities that include outreach to elected officials, including congressional representatives, and facilitating employee participation in I Make America, informing them about the importance of pro-manufacturing policies.

“I Make America’s success depends on strong participation from member companies and employees, and we are pleased to honor this year’s award winners; their outstanding efforts have helped us better inform elected officials about the critical importance of our industry in sustaining and improving our nation’s quality of life and economic prosperity,” said AEM President Dennis Slater.

“We will continue to build momentum around major legislative hurdles still facing the equipment manufacturing industry, including passage of a long-term highway bill, opening up global markets for U.S. exports, protecting our nation’s renewable fuel standard, and developing a comprehensive energy plan to boost U.S. competitiveness.”
