Great weather and a great turnout highlighted the Alex Lyon & Son auction.

 A pair of well-known residents helped Alex Lyon & Son celebrate its 25th annual Florida auction in Kissimmee, Fla. Ronald E. Oney, REO Sales owner, Valley City, Ohio, looks to add some inventory to kick off 2018, which he expects to be a strong year to move iron.
 Mike Munroe of Valley Transportation. The company has assembled a highly qualified and capable team for each transportation job. With a fleet of 180 trucks on the road and more on the way, Valley Transportation has grown steadily since its inception back in the 1980s. Helping in the “Jack in the Box” auction truck is Craig Schlautman, auction agent of Proxibid, Omaha, Neb. Here, he’s running the online bids coming into the Lyon auction.
 Doug Bryan, owner of Bryan Heavy Equipment, Oelwein, Iowa, carries Bobcat and Kubota and his company just completed its new 25,000-sq.-ft. facility.

 John Neville (L), founder of John E. Neville Excavating, brought the second- and third-generation family to the 25th annual sale, including son, Jacob Neville; sons-in-law, Triston Gordon and Matt Shapiro; and grandsons, Jameson Neville, Kirk Gordon and Camden Shapiro.
 Swapping ideas and notes on machines of mutual interest are Brent Beverly (L) of BTM Machinery, Columbia, S.C., and Mike Herring, Herring Construction, Eddyville, Ky.
 Regular Florida auction attendees, Debra and Joe Parsons of D&J Materials, Rockingham, N.C., were back at the Alex Lyon sale looking for machines for their business.
 Andrew (L) and Aaron Geurink of Holland Equipment Services came down from Michigan to see if they could bring some iron home with them.
 Austin Lerch of HREC LLC will win first prize for arriving in the coolest vehicle at the auction — a Polaris Slingshot.

For the 25th consecutive year, Alex Lyon & Son held its annual Florida Auctions in Kissimmee, Fla.

The nine-day auction, which ran from Feb. 3 through Feb. 11, saw a wide array of equipment and vehicles go on the block, including heavy iron, agriculture equipment, landscape equipment, UTVs, collectible cars, motorcycles, pick-up trucks, attachments, cranes and lifts and more.

On Wednesday, Feb. 7, Alex Lyon & Son celebrated its 25th anniversary at the Florida Auctions with a parade, which consisted of actual lions and tigers, as well as jugglers, the Mount Dora High School Marching Band and local residents, Mickey and Minnie.
