Construction Equipment Guide

With an ESL backhoe design and enhanced digging power, the Allmand TLB-535 heavy-duty compact tractor loader backhoe is designed to meet the needs of general construction, landscaping, utility and any other small to mid-size earthmoving applications.

With a 6,000-lb. (2,721 kg) digging force, the TLB-535’s industrial class backhoe reaches up to a 10-ft. (3 m) digging depth. Dual cylinder, 180-degree hydraulic cushioned swing allows precise work in tight areas, while joystick controls provide simple, smooth operation.

Allmand’s ESL backhoe design features oversized pins with replaceable composite bearings and urethane lip seals in all working joints. This design greatly reduces friction and extends service intervals by eliminating metal-to-metal contact, retaining grease levels and keeping out debris. For added safety, the TLB-535 backhoe features Allmand’s, heavy-duty boom lock that can be engaged or disengaged from the operator’s seat.

Powered by a 33.3-hp (24.8 kW) liquid-cooled Isuzu engine, the TLB-535 drives with an axial piston motor capable of running at a higher RPM, increasing efficiency. The TLB-535 houses a 65-hp (48.5 kW) rated hydrostatic transmission equipped with servo-control. The servo-control system offers the operator infinite control of the machine as well as reduced pedal effort in either forward or reverse travel mode. Additionally, the transmission case is constructed from cast iron to minimize noise.

The TLB-535 loader features a maximum breakout force of 3,400 lbs. (1,542 kg) and a 2,100-lb. (952.5 kg) lift capacity. The unit reaches a maximum loading height of 90 in. (229 cm), enabling the 0.5-cu. yd. (0.4 cu m) loader bucket to dump loads where other compact tractors cannot reach. With the universal quick-attach hitch option on the loader, the unit can accept many skid steer attachments, such as pallet forks.

A load sensing hydraulic steering system ensures hydraulic flow activates only when the operator turns the steering wheel. This system increases productivity and enhances performance by providing the maximum available hydraulic power to the backhoe, loader or attachment. To extend the life of hydraulic components, the TLB-535 features a high-capacity hydraulic oil cooler.

Oversized tie rods, a 7,000-lb. (3,175 kg) capacity front axle and an off-highway planetary rear axle assembly provide increased strength and stability, enabling the unit to handle severe terrain with less slippage. Other standard features include heavy-duty front end bumper, rounded hood, float control on the front-end loader bucket, easily-accessible service ports and high flotation, low ground pressure tires.

An optional auxiliary hydraulic package will run attachments such as cut off saws, jackhammers or crimpers. Other optional equipment includes auxiliary hydraulics, turf tires and various bucket sIzes.

Ergonomic controls minimize operator fatigue, and a custom-designed operator seat provides a commanding view of both the loader and backhoe work areas. Certified four-post ROPS and retractable seatbelt are standard.
