Nominations are now being accepted for the ARA Insurance/National Equipment Register (NER) Theft Award, an honor bestowed upon an individual who has helped the equipment rental industry fight equipment theft.

The sixth annual ARA Insurance/NER Award will be presented during a special ceremony at The Rental Show, ARA’s annual convention and trade show that is taking place in Las Vegas, Feb. 27 to March 2, 2011. The Rental Show is the largest rental equipment trade show in the world.

The ARA Insurance/NER Award was established to highlight heavy-equipment theft recovery and the hard work of law enforcement personnel to prevent theft and recover stolen equipment. The award recognizes a sworn law enforcement officer or a civilian support person who has “performed exceptional service to the rental industry through the recovery of rental equipment or through theft-prevention initiatives.”

The recipient will be afforded VIP guest status at The Rental Show, including round-trip travel and accommodations, and a commemorative plaque. In addition, a $1,000 grant will be awarded to the recipient’s department to aid in equipment-theft investigations.

Nominations may be submitted by Nov. 1, 2010 to Alysia Ryan at ARA by e-mail at [email protected] by fax at 309-764-1533 or by mail to ARA, 1900 19th St., Moline, IL 61265 or Stacy Kaufman at NER by e-mail at [email protected].
