Atlas Copco Construction Tools Inc.’s DP 2800 hydraulic demolition pulverizer attachment features a compact design and provides 110 tons of crushing force at the jaw tip.

The unit has a service weight of 6,280 lb. (2,848 kg) and is suitable for carriers in the 55,000 to 77,000 lb. (24,948 to 34,927 kg) weight class.

Operating at a maximum pressure of 5,076 psi and accepting maximum hydraulic flow of 92 gal. per minute, the DP 2800 uses a straight jaw design that allows the pulverizer’s jaws to open to a width of 38 in. (96.5 cm).

This wider opening enables the unit to handle larger pieces of debris, making the DP 2800 ideal for the primary demolition of light- to medium-reinforced concrete structures, secondary reduction and material separation.

The DP 2800 is constructed of components created through Finite Element Method (FEM) design, which applies additional support components only where necessary. FEM ensures the attachment has the required strength to withstand the extreme loads of various demolition applications while keeping the unit lightweight.

A speed valve on the DP 2800 allows shorter cycle times. The unit hydraulically rotates a full 360 degrees, and a built-in rotation protection system reduces wear and tear on the carrier.

Additionally, the pulverizer’s hydraulic cylinders are guarded for protection from outside debris.

Replaceable teeth on the jaws are advantageous for those performing maintenance in the field, and the unit’s replaceable blades cut rebar as the tool penetrates through concrete. The blades also are reversible.
