Atlas Copco Portable Energy has announced the XATS 1050, a portable compressor that offers a flexible output with variable pressure and flow settings.

The XATS 1050 produces 1,050 cfm of free air delivery at an operating pressure of 150 psi, or 950 cfm at 200 psi. This dual rating system ensures flexibility for a range of applications. It improves utilization rates and return on investment for the rental industry where application flexibility is paramount.

Even though the XATS 1050 contains two ratings in one unit, it remains easy to use. The operator sets the pressure and the engine automatically responds with the appropriate airflow.

The XATS 1050 features a new design that incorporates a spillage-free frame and a compact tandem axle enclosure to ensure maximum portability and flexibility at the job site.

As an option, customers can select from a John Deere 6090 or Cat C9.3 engine for compliance with Tier IV Final requirements for the North American market or Tier III for other locations.

"The new XATS 1050 gives our customers with demanding jobs such as foundation drilling and industrial sandblasting the flexibility and power that they need for their daily operations," said Robert Johnston, factory product manager, Atlas Copco Portable Energy. "This new model will shortly be joined by the XAS 1150, which incorporates the same benefits while producing 1150 cfm at 100 psi operating pressure."

The XATS 1050 will be available to order in the fourth quarter of 2014.
