Atlas Copco Power Technique is updating its well-known QAS 250 and QAS 330 generators with a more powerful John Deere 6090 engine. In engineering these models, Atlas Copco focused on the overall product quality, user friendliness, ease of service and economical operation resulting in best in class total cost of ownership.

The generators are designed to be versatile for several applications including construction, the oil field and special events. Both units are built with the same characteristics as the rest of the QAS line.

Build

These compact machines feature a powder coated steel. This is corrosion resistant and has a unique foam and layering system inside the doors that ensures water-tightness and improved sound attenuation. Additionally, the units offer 110 percent fluid containment. This makes the two models extremely durable and environmentally sensitive.

The units come in two different configurations: a dual axle trailer (standard) or a skid mounted unit with forklift pockets (option). This allows flexibility for the user in matching the machine to the correct applications.

Engine

Both generators feature a John Deere 9-liter, 6-cylinder Tier IV Final diesel engine. The QAS 250 runs at 290 hp, while the QAS 330 operates at 399 hp.

A great solution for the most demanding job sites, the motor starting capability is outstanding due to the AREP alternator excitation system. This provides startup power with 300 percent overcurrent starting capabilities coupled to the engine's capacity to stand a 100 percent load step, according to the manufacturer.

The internal 385-gallon fuel tank runs for 34 hours at 75 percent load on the QAS 250 and nearly 26 hours at 75 percent load on the QAS 330.

Serviceability

Wire routing is neat, clean and service friendly and allows for easy access through large access doors and panels. Heavy duty oil, air and fuel filters extend the maintenance interval to 500 hours and a reduced total cost of ownership.

Safety

The QAS 250 and 330 are equipped with an emergency stop for increased safety. A remote signal start and stop allows connection as a critical backup unit via a two-wire dry contact connection in the distribution panel.

Controller

Equipped with a DeepSea 7310 control module, the controller is fully diagnostic with its large three-inch display. It is intuitive and easy to operate with all functions conveniently at the operator's fingertips.

An optional paralleling controller includes a unique touch screen display and can link up to 32 generators of any size, working in Power Management Mode.
