Atlas Copco’s small range of articulated compact tandem rollers — the CC900, CC1000, CC1100, CC1200 and CC1300 — maximize productivity and ease of maintenance with their easily accessible parts. They also have light operating weights, which makes them ideal for use on city streets.

The compact tandem rollers have an operating weight of 3,700 to 8,600 lbs. (1,678 to 3,900 kg), and the CC1100, CC1200 and CC1300 rollers are available in two configurations: dual steel vibratory drums or as combi versions, which have one vibratory drum and four rubber tires. All double-drum models include vibration and drive on both drums.

Contractors can use the compact rollers for asphalt compaction on streets and pavements in urban areas. The CC1300 also is suitable for compacting sub-bases and base courses and is commonly used in conjunction with a small paver.

The rollers feature a water-cooled Kubota diesel engine. The Dynapac CC1100 and CC1200 are equipped with 35 hp engines, while the CC1300 uses a 45 hp engine. Both engine models operate with minimal noise, so users can operate in urban areas and at night with little impact on residents. The rollers have long service intervals, which means fewer oil changes and less money spent on routine maintenance.

The rollers’ water tanks are made of impact-resistant and recyclable polyethylene plastic and will not corrode. Three separate filters are used to prevent clogged sprinkler nozzles, and the entire sprinkler system can be drained quickly with the use of special tools. Contractors also can choose to equip the rollers with biodegradable hydraulic oil. The rollers have an optimal ratio of drum diameter to static linear loads, which minimizes the risk of cracks.

The combi versions feature rubber tires, which operate in pairs by separate drive motors. This reduces the risk of marring newly laid asphalt when making sharp turns. The high clearance at the drum edge also allows operators to compact materials close to high curbs. The compact tandem rollers offer an optional sideways sliding seat and operator-friendly dual front and reverse controls, which help to improve visibility for better control and compaction.

The Atlas Copco line of Dynapac compact tandem rollers is built using common parts. This provides the customer with easily accessible and readily available parts, reducing overall downtime.
