As part of the year-long 50th anniversary celebration of the Bobcat loader, a traveling historical exhibit is visiting 23 Bobcat dealers in the United States and Canada. The Bobcat 50 Years Unleashed North American Road Tour stopped at Mall of America on Saturday, Aug. 9. Local dealer Tri-State Bobcat hosted the Bobcat 50 Years Unleashed North American Road Tour.

In addition to the historic machines on display, eight cases affixed to the Road Tour trailer showcased Melroe and Bobcat collectibles and memorabilia from the past 50 years.

Attendees had an opportunity to test their operating skills with the Bobcat radio remote control system on the A300 all-wheel steer loader. This system allows an operator to control the Bobcat A300 loader from outside the cab. Another competition tested operators’ skills in bowling with a Bobcat compact excavator. Door prizes were awarded throughout the day.

This year not only marks the Bobcat 50th anniversary, but it also marks Tri-State Bobcat’s 25 years in business serving customers and equipment operators in the Twin Cities.
