A Southern California coastal community was flooded with two feet of ocean water after a seawall was damaged by a construction crew.
The Orange County Register reports (http://bit.ly/2rkQNsc ) workers were doing demolition work Wednesday in Newport Beach and accidentally damaged the wall.
When high tide came in shortly before 9 p.m., water rushed through and into the neighborhood.
Fire Battalion Chief Brian McDonough says at least one resident reported flooding inside a home while up to 20 others had water in their yards.
Stephanie Snead says she and her neighbors were initially concerned. But when it was clear the damage would be limited, residents floated through the streets on rafts and paddleboards.
