Caterpillar dealers’ Carolina CAT, Gregory Poole Equipment and Blanchard Machinery have announced the acquisition of Arrow Equipment Inc., the Blaw-Knox, Hypac and Lull dealer for North Carolina. This move merges the strengths of a company with more than 40 years of experience in the paving and masonry business with one of the strongest paving product lines in the industry.

Arrow Equipment will retain its name and become the authorized dealer in the Carolinas for Cat paving products and will be focused on selling and supporting Caterpillar’s line of asphalt pavers, rollers and related attachments.

The transition in North Carolina became effective March 1. In South Carolina, Blanchard Machinery will remain the authorized dealer for Cat paving Products through the next three months and will begin the transition of Arrow Equipment into that territory June 1. In both cases, 90-day plans have been put in place at each dealer to smoothly transition customer sales, parts an service needs over to the new dealer.

“The paving products market offers us tremendous growth potential,” said Carolina CAT President Ed Weisiger Jr. “With this acquisition, we can apply Arrow’s strengths to improve Caterpillar’s position in the paving products market while continuing to improve the level of service to our paving customers.”

Plans are for Arrow to use and leverage the existing facilities of the three full-line dealers to provide parts and service to paving contractors. Arrow also plans to open additional ’paving product specific’ locations as demand dictates.

Larry Still, president and owner of Arrow Equipment, will remain in his leadership position and will head the new company from its Greensboro headquarters. All employees of Arrow Equipment will remain with the company.

While the dealer for Cat paving products and related attachments, Arrow Equipment will continue to support the parts, service and rental needs of existing customers owning Blaw-Knox, Hypac and Lull products. Arrow Equipment will also remain the authorized dealer for Lull Forklifts in North Carolina.

Arrow Equipment was founded in 1959 and has served the paving and masonry industry in North Carolina for 45 years. Arrow’s success is based on a philosophy of ethics, responsibility, experience and dependability. Arrow Equipment has one location in Greensboro, NC.

Since 1982, Blanchard Machinery Company has been the authorized dealer for Caterpillar Equipment as well as Caterpillar industrial, truck and marine engines for all 46 counties in South Carolina. Supplying and supporting Cat products for the heavy construction, compact equipment, rental services and Engine markets, Blanchard has 14 locations statewide.

Carolina CAT is the authorized Caterpillar dealer for Western North Carolina and operates nine locations. The company was founded more than 75 years ago by L.M. Weisiger with a commitment to support the growth of North Carolina by supplying and supporting Caterpillar equipment to the state’s utility, road building and mining industries.

Gregory Poole Equipment Company is the authorized Caterpillar dealer for Eastern North Carolina. Founded in 1951, Gregory Poole’s heavy equipment, rental services, power systems and lift truck divisions operate out of nine locations.
