The Second Annual Oktoberfest Open House and Demo Day at Contractors Equipment Rentals, also known as CE Rentals, drew a big crowd of concrete, paving and landscaping contractors, municipality teams, as well as folks from the Illinois DOT on Oct. 17. Robert Sloan, co-founder and owner of the 29-year-old Chicagoland rental and construction equipment company, thanked customers and welcomed new prospects with a complimentary lunch of bratwurst sausages hot off the fire.
"We're really honored to see so many busy, hard-working business owners and public works folks, along with many of their staff members, take the time to visit and learn more about us today," said Sloan. "We have some groups who drove 45 minutes to come have lunch with us and see firsthand everything we offer in rentals, used and new equipment, and parts and service.
CE Rentals distinguishes itself from competitors in the area with free local delivery on heavy machine rentals. Its product offering ranges from breakers, drills, generators, saws and blades to skid steers, rollers, mini-excavators, all-terrain forklifts, telehandlers, grinders, chippers, trenchers and much more –– with well-known brands such as Yanmar/Terex, Wacker, New Holland, Bomag, Toro and DitchWitch. The company also houses a showroom of vital contractor supplies and consumables.
"Our featured demo was the Aqua Patch ready-to-use pothole repair mix," Sloan said. "This is an amazing problem-solver product that literally allows one person to quick-fix a pothole on the spot in about 10 minutes, and it's guaranteed to last three years. As the exclusive distributor in Illinois, we've put Aqua Patch into the hands of public works officials of the city of Chicago and numerous surrounding communities. I strongly recommend anyone who's in public works, parks and recreation, property or golf course management, or any type of grounds-keeping to have a supply of this product on hand for the upcoming winter months."
Sloan's open house was co-sponsored by The Sandbagger, also based in Elmhurst. Owner Tim Vandergrift demonstrated the machine that super-accelerates sandbag filling for construction, public works and military applications.
