Chad Latta, of Latta Earthworks in Athens, Ohio is the winner of the JCB "Win a Teleskid" Sweepstakes. Latta wins a 12-month lease on a special edition JCB teleskid 3TS-8T compact track loader, painted in silver livery to commemorate JCB's 25th anniversary of skid steer production. Latta also wins $5,000 in cash.

The JCB "Win a Teleskid" Sweepstakes ran from July 15, 2018, through Feb. 28, 2019. The winner was drawn at random on by JCB's sweepstakes administrator, SweepstakesPros.

"A big thank you from everyone at JCB to the thousands of people who entered the sweepstakes," said Sophia Bellos, vice president of marketing at JCB. "The JCB teleskid is a game-changer for construction, landscaping and agriculture customers, and we're looking forward to seeing how Mr. Latta will put the machine to use in his excavation and composting business."

Designed and built at JCB North America headquarters near Savannah, the teleskid has a telescopic boom and a lift height of 13 ft. 3 in. (4 m) — 8 percent higher than any skid steer on the market — and forward reach of 8 ft. (2.4 m) — 60 percent further its nearest competitor. It also is the only skid steer that can dig below grade, to a depth of 3 ft. (.9 m), according to the manufacturer.

The teleskid is available as a wheeled skid steer loader or compact track loader, with rated operating capacities of 3,208 and 3,695 lb., respectively. the Teleskid also is the only skid steer to combine the advantages of radial lift — for efficient excavating and grading — and vertical lift — for optimal lift capacity and height — in a single machine.

"I'm very excited to win the ‘Win a Teleskid' sweepstakes," said Latta. "The teleskid is going to help me achieve a whole new level of productivity in my business."

Company Wrench is a territory dealer for JCB in Ohio and provides sales, parts, and service for JCB equipment in the Athens area. Clay Durham of Company Wrench assisted in delivering the JCB teleskid and gave Latta a walk-around of the machine to point out its operational features and maintenance guidelines.

Latta Earthworks LLC provides excavation services and operates the Latta Earthworks Compost Site near Athens, Ohio. The company recycles farm and yard waste to create valuable compost and mulches for farms, landscapers and gardeners throughout central Ohio.
