A necessity in the forestry industry, the log loader, is used to sort and stack the logs, as well as loading them for transport. Several types of loaders are available: Knuckleboom loaders, truck mounted and wheel loaders. Knuckleboom loaders have a swing arm and are hydraulically-operated. Truck mounted loaders are attached directly to the truck and are generally used for smaller wood. Wheel loaders use a set of forks with a grapple to load the logs and are very efficient, because they can load a large amount of logs at one time.
