Chicago Pneumatic Construction Equipment has introduced the CPS 185 JD iTIV to the North American marketplace. The 185 cfm portable air compressor is now available from authorized Chicago Pneumatic equipment dealers across the continent.

Equipped with a water-cooled, 49 hp, four-cylinder John Deere engine, the CPS 185 JD iT4 Steel delivers a solution for running a myriad of pneumatic construction tools, sand blasting and just in time for irrigation blow out season, according to the company.

“The CPS 185 JD can handle a variety of applications,” said Eric Massinon, product manager of portable energy at Chicago Pneumatic. “The 185 cfm compressor provides a true 185 cfm unit.”

According to Massinon, it’s not a true 185 cfm unit if it is unable to run two 90 lb. breakers.

There are a number of features to increase efficiency and decrease downtime on the job site engineered into every unit. Features like the rear-mount control panel for easy operation, trailer light package, adjustable-height hitch complete with jack stand and safety chains for safe transport, automatic temperature shutdowns and low oil pressure shutdown to protect the engine, and a galvaneal sheet metal enclosure to reduce compressor and engine noise all equate to a better user experience, and a more efficient operation, according to the company.

“There are also a variety of options that we can integrate onto any CPS 185 JD,” said Massinon, “like additional hose reels, an 18 inch extended drawbar, or even a heavy duty battery or block heater for cold climates.”

The CPS 185 JD has an operating weight of 2,375 lb. (1,077 kg), and measures 125 in. (317.5 cm) long, 60 in. (152 cm) wide, and 55.25 in. (140 cm) tall. The CPS 185 JD has a normal working pressure of 100 psi with a maximum unloading pressure of 125 psi, and features a 25-gal. (94.6 L) fuel tank.
