Cianbro Vice Chairman Elected President of the Associated General Contractors of America

Robert J. Desjardins, a Maine businessman has been elected as the 2001-2002 president of the Associated General Contractors of America (AGC).

Desjardins is vice chairman and executive vice president of Cianbro Corporation, a Pittsfield, ME-based firm that specializes in highway/bridge and heavy-industrial construction. Cianbro has been an AGC member since 1951.

Also elected by AGC membership were the following:

o Larry C. Gaskins was elected senior vice president. Gaskins is president of L.C. Gaskins Construction Co. Inc., a Jacksonville, FL-based firm that specializes in highway/bridge and heavy-industrial construction. The firm has been an AGC member since 1977.

o Jack Kelley III was elected vice president. Kelley is president of Nickerson & O’Day Inc., a Bangor, ME-based firm that specializes in a variety of building projects throughout Maine. The firm has been an AGC member since 1955.

o Bill B. Armstrong Jr. was elected treasurer. Armstrong is CEO of Armstrong Construction Co. Inc., a Roswell, NM-based firm that specializes in highway and heavy-industrial construction. The firm has been an AGC member since 1934.
