NORTH HERO, Vt. (AP) Officials will begin repairs on Vermont's last historic drawbridge this summer.

WFFF-TV reports construction on the North Hero-Grand Isle Drawbridge will start in July. The project is expected to be completed in 2022.

The bridge is located near Ladd's Landing Marina.

Local business owners said construction will affect drivers and boat traffic. Hero's Welcome co-owner Robert Camp said the project timeline is disappointing.

Senior project manager Todd Sumner said the goal of the construction is to make the bridge safe and reliable.
