Contractors Recognized at Annual AGC Safety Luncheon

The Associated General Contractor’s of Ohio held its fourth annual Safety Luncheon Jan. 27 at the OSU Fawcett Center.

The event, which attracted moe than 60 people, was held to recognize the safety efforts of commercial building companies.

The following seven Ohio companies took home a Construction Safety Excellence Award (CSEA):

Lincoln Construction Inc. (Columbus)

Tuttle Construction Inc. (Lima)

Elford Inc. (Columbus)

Danis Building Co. (Dayton, Columbus)

Messer Construction Co. (Cincinnati, Dayton, Columbus)

Kokosing Construction (Fredericktown, Westerville)

Baker Concrete Construction

Keenan Weir of Messer Construction Co. won the Ohio CSEA Superintendent Award.

Three Ohio CSEA winners — Kokosing Construction Co., Tuttle Construction Inc. and Lincoln Construction Inc. — will be competing with companies from all over the United States as National Finalists for 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place in their division during the National AGC Convention in Palm Springs, CA, March 19-22, 2006.

The national winners will be announced during a breakfast on the last day of the convention.

Also recognized at the luncheon were contractors that received Certificates of Commendation for Safety Excellence through the National AGC Safety Awards Program (NASA). These companies include:

Allison Muth of Messer Construction Co. (Cincinnati, Dayton, Columbus) was selected as the new chairperson of the Safety Committee during a Safety Committee meeting that took place directly before the Safety Luncheon.

She replaced Mark Hoffman of Rudolph/Libbe Inc. (Walbridge), who had served as Safety Chairperson since 2003.

Dave Gura of Turner Construction’s Cleveland office will serve as Vice-Chair.
