ASV’s Compact PT-30 Rubber Track Loader Does Big Work in Small Spaces

Construction Equipment Guide

The PT-30 is ASV’s most compact rubber track loader. At only 48 in. (122 cm) wide, the PT-30 is sized to work in confined spaces, yet productive enough to replace an entire crew of hand labor.

The PT-30 replaces ASV’s former RC-30 rubber track loader that was introduced in 2000.

As with the former RC-30, the 33.7 hp (25.1 kW) PT-30 uses ASV’s undercarriage technology with suspension that maximizes traction and floatation while giving operators a comfortable ride.

The PT-30 uses 24 wheels in its undercarriage to spread the machine’s weight over the entire length and width of its tracks. As a result, the machine’s 3,350 lb (1,500 kg) operating weight is distributed down to only 2.8 psi (19.2 kPa) of ground pressure. That is less ground pressure than that of a person on foot. With such low ground pressure, the PT-30 can work productively in soft or wet ground conditions.

Extremely low ground pressure also makes the PT-30 ideal for work on environmentally-sensitive surfaces such as landscaping, golf courses and wherever fragile underground systems need to be protected.

Ideal for landscaping, construction, snow removal, golf course maintenance, municipalities, farming and ranching and private land owners, the PT-30 may be outfitted with a wide range of loader-mounted attachments, each performance-matched to connect easily and work productively. Included are buckets, rakes, a brushcutter, mowers, blades, a snowblower, backhoe, broom, land leveler, pallet forks and many more. Hydraulic attachments readily connect to the PT-30’s standard 10 gpm (37.9 Lpm) 3,000 psi (20,670 kPa) auxiliary hydraulic system.

Operators also have the option of the machine’s standard tracks or a special smooth Turf Track similar to what was provided on the former RC-30 Turf Edition machines. The machine’s standard track is an 11-in. (51 cm) wide general purpose track with moderate treads for optimum operation and traction in the widest range of ground conditions. The Turf Track offers exceptionally low-impact performance when on the most sensitive or fragile surfaces.

Refinements to the PT-30 over the former RC-30 include greater upward visibility from the operator station, a new dash with more gauges, an optional improved door with a better handle and tighter sealing, plus a completely new paint and decal package that includes ASV’s bold new logo.
