More than 40 members of the DelChester Public Works Association gathered at the Fame Fire Hall in West Chester, PA, for one of the association’s quarterly meetings, sponsored by Giles & Ransome (G&R), a Caterpillar dealer.

“In sponsoring this meeting, we allow everyone from the township supervisor to the equipment operator to not only learn what is going on in their association but also to be exposed to new industry equipment and technology, such as the ASV Posi-Track,” said Tom McLaughlin, governmental sales representative, G&R.

In addition to general association business, the meeting also featured a speaker on pavement markings by Mark Hood from LTAP, and McLaughlin spoke briefly on Giles & Ransome and the company’s special governmental programs.

G&R also exhibited a variety of equipment, including a Cat 416IT-backhoe loader, a Cat CB-224D double drum vibratory roller and a Cat 216 skid steer. The display also included Caterpillar’s new ASV Posi-Track 4810, a rubber-tracked machine that allows municipalities and contractors to easily work around water banks and swamps because of its low ground pressure.

The DelChester Public Works Association was founded in 1992 and represents municipalities in Delaware and Chester counties. The association, which is comprised of municipal and vendor members, meets quarterly and holds its annual trade show in December.

Giles & Ransome, a division of Giles & Ransome Inc., is the authorized distributor of Caterpillar heavy construction equipment in eastern Pennsylvania, southern New Jersey and northern Delaware.
