Construction Equipment Guide

Ditch Witch Mid-States recently conducted a series of Training Days at its locations in Kentucky, Pennsylvania and Ohio for the dealership's customers and other industry professionals. Formerly operating as Ditch Witch of Ohio, Western Pennsylvania and Western New York, the company changed its name due to the recently added locations in Lexington and Louisville, Ky., expanding its service area to encompass Ohio, Kentucky, Southern Indiana, Western Pennsylvania and Western New York and the pan handle of West Virginia. The training sessions were conducted at the company's locations in Cranberry, Pa., Columbus, Ohio, and Louisville, Ky.

A session entitled Baroid Mud School provided information about mixing mud for various bores and changing conditions, identifying formations, selection and concentration of Baroid products, pump volumes and information about the Fluid Formulator, a mobile phone app available at the Ditch Witch Mid-States's Web site.

Ditch Witch factory representatives presented a talk on the Ditch Witch MR90 mud recycler with a follow up walk around of the machine. The self-contained, portable unit is designed to maximize efficiency and profits by reclaiming, recycling and reusing drilling mud. As the only mud-recycling unit on the market that can be transported full of fluid, and capable of quick setup times, operators experience increased efficiency and reduced expense on the job site.

The events also included sessions on the Ditch Witch TK Series HDD Electronic Guidance Systems, designed to aid operators in monitoring the location of the bore in directional drilling.

John Lamerton, of Charles Machine Works's Subsite Electronics and Mark McMillion of Charles Machine Works's Hammerhead Trenchless Equipment, as well as Todd DeWindt, regional manager of Terex Compact Construction Equipment also were on hand to discuss equipment with attendees at the Columbus branch of Ditch Witch Mid-States.

There also were state and regional representatives on hand to give talks about the 811One Call System, safe practices and permitting requirements.

Ditch Witch Mid-States sells, rents and services the full line of Ditch Witch equipment from fully staffed branch locations in Columbus, Ohio, Pittsburgh, Pa., Lexington and Louisville, Ky.
