The Charles Machine Works Inc., manufacturer of Ditch Witch products, hosted an equipment seminar with its dealers Sept. 20 to 22 at the Ditch Witch Worldwide Headquarters in Perry, Okla.

More than 300 customers, dealers and magazine representatives arrived Sept. 20 at Will Rogers Airport in Oklahoma City and enjoyed an evening of equipment presentations at the Lazy E Arena near Guthrie, Okla., followed by a buffet dinner.

The next day’s activities included a tour of the manufacturing facility and more product demonstrations. A full showcase of the Ditch Witch line was presented including new products such as the PR pipe replacement systems and the XT1600 excavator tool carrier.

The new PR50, PR75 and PR95 pipe bursting systems are designed to fracture or cut most types of existing pipe — water, sewer, or utility — and pull in new pipe with 50, 75 or 95 tons of pullback force, respectively.

The XT1600 is designed to perform the work of three machines: a backhoe loader, mini excavator, and compact track loader. Equipped with a 59-hp (44 kW) diesel engine, the XT1600 is a ride-on unit that features a 260-degree excavator sweep that enables the operator to dig in multiple positions in tight job sites confined spaces, including offset digging along walls, fences and buildings.
