James Headley of Headley Tree Service, looks at skid steers, but said he was interested primarily in the chippers on sale at the auction.   There was a variety of trucks going on the block at the auction. While many of the bidders stayed indoors to watch the equipment crossing the ramp, several auction attendees elected to watch outside.

Don Smock conducted its 25th annual spring auction at the company's auction complex in Pendleton, Ind., on March 24. The auction drew enthusiastic crowds from Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio and Illinois while also attracting heavy online bidding as well. Staged in three rings, the auction included excavators, crawler tractors, loader backhoes, scrapers, skid steer loaders, attachments and various types of trucks, including service, utility and vacuum trucks.

Founded in 1990, Don Smock Auction Company Inc. holds four major auctions at the company's all-weather facility in Pendleton, Ind., and conducts onsite auctions throughout the Midwest every year. In addition to conducting auctions focused primarily on used construction, transportation and agricultural equipment, the company also conducts estate and real estate auctions and offers additional services. —CEG
