DuraClass Aluminum HPT dump bodies provide contractors a hard working, versatile dump body with a lightweight, durable, corrosion resistant aluminum construction. Full aluminum design offers corrosion resistance, eliminating paint expense and increasing body value at trade-in.
Typically up to 50 percent lighter than traditional steel, the decreased body weight of aluminum bodies increases payload capacity, minimizes fuel consumption and improves truck life, according to the manufacturer.
DuraClass Aluminum HPT bodies feature fully enclosed front posts and slanted vertical side braces and are available in sizes ranging from 10 to 18 ft. (3 to 5.5 m) with 5 to 20-cu. yd. (3.8 to 15 cu m) capacities.
Contractors can get the DuraClass’ aluminum body equipped with additional features including upper and lower tarp rails, integral cab shields, ladders, patch gates, fenders, poly sideboards, toolboxes and more.
Carbon Steel Bodies
Municipal users and contractors count on DuraClass carbon and stainless steel dump bodies for performance and durability. The HH and the heavy duty HM are engineered for hard impact and maximum life and the sidewalls are direct welded to the body floor and supported by DuraClass’ structural subframe. This provides added rigidity for tough jobs and difficult payloads.
DuraClass’ sidewall design and smooth body side radius and bracing add longevity and strength. The HM and HH utilize a stacked understructure. The HM uses 4-in. (10 cm) structural channel crossmembers and the HH uses 4-in. I-beam crossmembers on 6-in. (15 cm) I-beam longmembers. Extra wide corner posts are full depth and fully enclosed and vertical side braces are extra wide to provide years of durable and trouble-free service, according to the manufacturer.
The DuraClass SL316 also features a crossmemberless understructure, along with the DuraClass sidewall, smooth radius corners, fully enclosed front posts and full depth rear corner posts. Material and dirt resist build-up and clean easily offering better corrosion protection in harsh environments. The SL316 crossmemberless design has deep flared longmembers that are fully boxed, eliminating the need for subframe crossmembers.
