One of the largest family-owned businesses in Somerset County, Pa., announced that it has hired Eric Knopsnyder as director of marketing of Riggs Industries Inc. He will be replacing Shahira Hoffman who will be retiring later this year after serving 20 years with the company.

Knopsnyder brings more than 20 years of experience in journalism including editor, sports editor and most recently digital media editor. He will work closely with the management teams of each of the divisions within the company to oversee the development and delivery of a fully integrated marketing strategy for the businesses. Knopsnyder also will oversee marketing communications, including the company's six web sites, social media activities, print and email communication, and advertising.

"We are excited that Eric has joined our team," said Dan Yunetz, president of Riggs Industries. "We are confident his experience will help grow our organization through effective marketing strategy execution and implementation. On his first day, he put together an entertaining video for our social media outlets which memorialized J&J Truck Bodies and Trailers' exhibit and customer experience at the recent Mid America Trucking Show. I am impressed with that kind of initiative and enthusiasm."
