Exhibitors Fill Seams of Cleveland’s 2003 Expo

Cleveland will soon hear the rumble of equipment moving into CEG Production’s Cleveland Construction Expo as exhibitors gear up for another great show.

Along with a showcase of the latest in industry equipment and innovation, the “Greatest Show in Dirt,” will feature heart-pounding live demonstrations, skill-testing competitions, and fabulous prizes and giveaways.

The Cleveland Construction Expo will be held April 11 and 12, at the Cuyahoga County Fairgrounds in Berea, OH.

Here’s a rundown of some of the exhibitors highlighting the 2003 trade show:

• Mahnen Machinery

- Booth C (demo area)

Mahnen Machinery will highlight its new John Deere line of equipment at the show. Expecting some exposure and sales from the show, the company will have a variety of equipment in its outdoor demo area including dozers, excavators, backhoe loaders, rubber-tired wheel loaders and skid steers for attendees to “test drive.”

• Rogers Brothers Corp.

- Booth #11 (outdoor, static)

Rogers Brothers will feature four of its trailers at the Cleveland show including its 50-ton (45 t) detachable, a 20-ton (18 t) draw bar tagalong, a 20-ton (18 t) tilt deck and a 35-ton (32 t) paving detachable.

There will be special pricing at the show for attendees and “we will be detaching the gooseneck at the show,” said Glenn Black, of Roger Brothers. The company hopes to get their name out to future customers and increase its customer base and sales volume at the Expo.

• D&W Diesel

- Booth #400

D&W Diesel, a company that sells diesel engine components, plans to exhibit starters, alternators, turbo chargers, diesel engine fuel pumps and injectors, hoses and couplers at the show.

New to the Cleveland area, D&W Diesel hopes to introduce its company name and let the public know about its new products. D&W purchased Dry Bulk Equipment in April 2002 and expanded the product line. The company currently has four locations in New York and one in Massachusetts.

• Falkenroth Inc.

- Booth #104,105

Falkenroth Inc., a U.S. subsidiary of a 100-year-old German company, will be showcasing its ground gauging tools including bucket teeth and cutting tools.

With show specials for attendees, the company hopes to increase its business in northeast Ohio.

• Lake Front Aerials

- Booth #280

The Brookpark, OH, company will highlight its aerial work platforms, scissor lifts, boom lifts and more at the Cleveland Construction Expo.

A dealer of Haulotte’s aerial platforms, Lake Front Aerials hopes to expand awareness of its base to guests as the company is new in town. There will be giveaways of rentals at the show.

Besides renting platforms, the company also offers safety training to its customers.

• Construction News Corp.

- Booth #805

Construction News Corp., a construction news and reporting service with offer special trade show promotions during the show.

The company’s business development director, based out of Philadelphia, will be in attendance to answer questions and raise awareness of its product.

• Lang Tool Co.

- Booth #12 (outdoor, static)

Lang Tool Co. will feature its “modified excavator” called the 290LTC tool carrier. It also will show attachments, a stump grinder, a rock grinder and a tree mulcher.

The goal of the company for the show is to sell more of its products.

• Linings Inc.

- Booth #806

The company, based out of Ravenna, OH, will showcase its UHMW Tivar dump body linings for on and off road dump trucks, as well as its Tivar linings for hoppers, bins and shoots.

Linings Inc., hoping to get is name and products out to potential customers, while drumming up a little business, will have a $500 off drawing at its booth.

• Mid State Sales

- Booth #405

Mid State Sales, hoping to get its name out in the Cleveland area for new sales leads will offer a variety of products at its booth during the show. The company plans to exhibit its hydraulic hose assemblies, hydraulic fittings, adapters, bulk hose, and a slew of MRO products including adhesives, sealants, lubes, v-belts, work gloves, paint and safety equipment.

Mid State also plans to hold a product demo showing how easy it is to make a hydraulic hose assembly.

Besides these and more exhibits to spark attendees’ interests, there will be a whole lot more waiting at the 2003 Cleveland Construction Expo.

The backhoe and skid steer rodeos will be held both days of the show and will boast a total cash prize of $5,000.

The Expo also will boast more than 38,000 sq. ft. of indoor exhibit space, several acres of outdoor displays, a large area for active demonstration and operation of machinery, along with plenty of free parking.
