Approximately 320 guests from the United States and Canada were welcomed into the city of Ida Grove for the GOMACO Invitational #41 to enjoy the best of Iowa's fall weather for two days of golf and camaraderie. There were 256 participants in the two-person Putting Tournament and 320 in the four-person Scramble Tournament held Sept. 19 to 20, 2023. The GOMACO Invitational is the company's annual golf event and was held at the Ida Grove Golf and Country Club and three surrounding courses, including Holstein, Mapleton and Schleswig.

The GOMACO Invitational began at the Ida Grove Country Club, with the Putting Tournament. Teams of two putters were computer generated to participate on four different greens on the course, with the top team from each green advancing to the Putting Championship. This year's championship team was Torey Koch of Bierschbach Equipment & Supply Co. in Sioux Falls, S.D., and Tom Farr of GOMACO.

The Contractors' Shoot-Out followed the Putting Tournament. The Shoot-Out featured six teams of GOMACO contractors competing in a five-hole competition, with the highest scoring team eliminated on each hole. This year's Contractors' Shoot-Out Champions were Neil McFadden of Smith Paving & Excavating Inc., in Norwalk, Ohio; Derek Dilger of Smith Paving & Excavating Inc., in Norwalk, Ohio; and Neil Galloway of Island Slipforming, in Victoria, B.C., Canada.

The Invitational Scramble best-ball tournament was held on four area golf courses. Teams of four golfers played 18 holes with each course crowning a champion. The champion teams then played a three-hole scramble tournament at the Ida Grove golf course to earn the title of GOMACO Invitational #41 Grand Champion. The highest-scoring team was eliminated on each hole until only one remained. The Grand Champion team was from the Mapleton golf course and included Mike Mandozzi of Construction Equipment Magazine, Arlington Heights, Ill.; Mark Brenner of GOMACO, Charlie Knudsen of Concrete Technologies Inc., Grimes, Iowa; and Blake Driskell of Gerdan Slipforming, Cape Girardeau, Mo. They won the Mapleton tournament with a score of 63, which was seven under par.

The Ida Grove tournament champion team members included Dennis Kloke of Croell Inc. of Waukon, Iowa; Marc Grote of IFP Motion Solutions, Cedar Rapids, Iowa; David Barthel of Faris Machinery, Commerce City, Colo.; and Josh Held of Fabick CAT, Fenton, Mo. They finished the Ida Grove tournament with a score of 57, which was 13 under par.

Winning the Holstein tournament were Clint Golay of Berry Tractor and Equipment Co., Topeka, Kan., Bob Newman of Road Machinery & Supplies Co., Bondurant, Iowa; Mike Milenkovich of Kiewit Corporation, Omaha, Neb.; and Zach Corrigan of GOMACO. They finished the Holstein tournament with a score of 62, which was eight under par.
