Flexco DRX Impact Beds Upgraded to Offer Maximum Belt Protection

Construction Equipment Guide

Designed to deliver maximum protection to conveyor belts in the load zone Flexco’s dual relief xtra, (DRX) impact beds are engineered to maximize belt protection, offering ease of installation and maintenance. Recent upgrades to the DRX200, DRX750 and DRX1500 impact beds have further improved installation and serviceability, according to the manufacturer.

The slide-out service feature on the DRX allows direct access to the bars and bolts for easy inspection and quick, safe maintenance when required — greatly reducing downtime.

“We continue to review our products and look for ways to improve the serviceability to ensure the products can be easily maintained,” said Ryan Grevenstuk, BCP product manager of Flexco. “In this case, reducing the number of bolts and improving their accessibility enhanced an already highly serviceable product.”

Structure Design

While other beds rely solely on the support bars to reduce impact, DRX impact beds incorporate velocity reduction technology in the structure design. This multi-level support effectively deadens impact energy and reduces reaction forces for less rebound and material digestion.

The impact bar supports have an inverted design that acts as a first level of impact defense, while channel crossbeams transfer impact energy to the isolation mounts. These isolation mounts provide additional force reduction, absorbing energy and minimizing transmission back to the belt. Angled impact bars help center material on the belt and anti-migration tabs prevent them from moving with the belt if bolts loosen.

Ideal for a Variety

of Applications

The DRX200, DRX750 and DRX1500 meet or exceed CEMA standards. These models, along with the DRX3000 Dynamic, can handle everything from light-duty sand and gravel applications to the most heavy-duty or extreme applications that combine large material and a severe drop height, according to the manufacturer.

Flexco also offers skirt clamps and skirt clamp systems for load-point product needs.
