Gehl Foundation Announces 2019 Scholarships Recipients

The Gehl Foundation awarded two $20,000 collegiate scholarships for students beginning in the fall of 2019. Anna Kiskunas, daughter of Manitou Group employee Steve Kiskunas, and Andrew Loehr, son of Manitou Group employee Thomas Loehr, are the recipients of the scholarships for 2019. Since 1966, the Gehl Foundation has selected outstanding high school students as recipients of this scholarship; the chosen students being children of Manitou Group employees in North America.

Kiskunas recently graduated from Cedar Grove-Belgium High School where she was a member of the National Honor Society and band, taking first place at Solo Ensemble. Outside of her academic accomplishments, Kiskunas volunteered with the American Legion Auxiliary and participated in 4-H. In the fall, Kiskunas will be attending the University of Wisconsin — Milwaukee to pursue a degree in marketing.

"I want to make the marketing field more positive and beneficial," said Kiskunas. "This scholarship will give me the opportunity to accomplish my dreams and lead me on the path to be a successful businesswoman."

Andrew Loehr

A recent graduate of St. Mary's Springs Academy, Loehr will be continuing his education at the University of Wisconsin — Madison pursuing a degree in agricultural engineering. During his time at St. Mary's Springs Academy, Loehr was involved in the National Honor Society, cross country, tennis, chess club, math team and trap shooting, earning him many awards.

"I would like to work in the agriculture industry designing farm equipment," said Loehr. "Continuing my education will allow for a better future, and the Gehl Foundation's scholarship will do a lot for me and my future."

Gehl, a Manitou Group brand, offers a full range of compact equipment for the global marketplace including skid loaders, track loaders, telescopic handlers and articulated loaders. Over the past 53 years, Gehl has been committed to contributing to the educational aspirations and success of their employees' families. The recipients will receive $5,000 per year for four years of their collegiate career. Recipients are asked to update the organization periodically on their achievements at their respective universities.
