Georgia’s ABC Tabs David Barrett as Its ’03 Board Chairman

David Barrett, of Dudley Barrett Construction Company, recently was named 2003 chairman of the board of the Atlanta-based Associated Builders and Contractors of Georgia Inc. (ABC).

Barrett is president of Atlanta-based Dudley Barrett Construction where he oversees all aspects of the day-to-day operations. He has 19 years of construction industry experience and co-founded Dudley Barrett Construction in 1996. Under Barrett, Dudley Barrett Construction has delivered projects such as: Atlanta Gas Light Resources corporate headquarters; Spa at Ritz Carlton Lake Oconee; the clubhouse at Reynolds Plantation; and Coca-Cola Bottling plant expansion in East Point.

Barrett also serves as a member of the Appalachian Outreach Advisory Board and is active in Birmingham UMC, and through affiliated companies, is a Partner In Education with local elementary, middle and high schools.

ABC of Georgia consists of more than 400 commercial and industrial contractors, suppliers and service firms, representing more than 15,000 employees. ABC supports the merit shop philosophy of construction that emphasizes free enterprise and open competition. The statewide organization is one of 81 chapters of the ABC in Washington, D.C. with more than 23,000 members across the country.
