Guillo Leans on Volvo, Malvese for Continuing Success

Construction Equipment Guide

Paul R. Guillo, president and CEO of the Guillo Construction Corporation, started his small excavating business 30 years ago, which has expanded over the years to become a giant in the industry. The success of running such a large enterprise — which includes landscape, material production and processing, commercial and residential excavating and drainage, trucking, roll-off service, demolition, masonry and swimming pool construction and service — depends heavily upon the purchase and maintenance of a large reliable fleet of quality equipment and trucks, not to mention a hardworking, dedicated professional management team, office staff and a core group of talented employees. So, when Guillo decided to step up production at his Southampton, NY, facility, he looked to the names he trusted — Volvo Construction Equipment and Malvese Equipment Company.

Guillo ran his first Volvo wheel loader 15 years ago, where he found the machine to be extremely responsive, incredibly smooth to operate, comfortably accommodating and operator friendly. Today, Guillo owns a number of Volvo machines including recent purchases of L150 and L130 front-end wheel loader, and two EC210 Volvo excavators. He has outfitted his excavators with hydraulic attachments from Geith, including a combination thumb and pulverizer attachment.

“The machines,” said Guillo, “have more than sufficient power and far exceed my expectations. The cycle time is quick, breakout force impressive, fuel consumption is low, and the maintenance is time saving due to ease of accessibility of parts for servicing. Volvo heavy construction equipment is by far an excellent group of machines.”

Looking to Malvese Equipment Company, with offices in Hicksville and Riverhead, NY, for his equipment needs, Guillo worked with their dedicated sales and service staff. Guillo attests to the fact that, “Malvese has treated us with the utmost respect. Their service and reliability are unmatched in the industry. They are more than salesmen, they are problem solvers. If I have a problem or a concern, they are right there for me with an answer. Malvese has never let me down and I look forward to a continued relationship with them for many years to come.”
