H&E Equipment Services Inc. (H&E) held a grand opening event at its new branch in Savannah, Ga., on Sept. 22. The Savannah branch, located at 49 Artley Road, is the newest of several neighboring locations in Atlanta, Ga., Charleston, S.C., and Jacksonville, Fla., with a total of 77 branches nationwide.

The location will provide full-service coverage to customers in eastern Georgia and southern South Carolina. The 12,500 sq. ft. (1,161 sq m) facility sits on three acres with a fully fenced and paved yard area, offices, parts warehouse and a three-bay repair shop. The facility is capable of repairing a variety of general industrial and construction equipment.

The Savannah branch specializes in aerial lifts, telescopic forklifts, earthmoving and general construction equipment from the following manufacturers: Atlas Copco, Doosan, Gehl, Genie, JLG, Magnum, Miller, Multiquip, Okada, Skyjack, Skytrak, Sullair, Takeuchi, Wacker Neuson, Yanmar and more.

“With economic recovery and growth in the industrial, tourism, port authority and military sectors, we see tremendous opportunity to serve equipment customers in Savannah with our unique full-service approach to this business. So much so, in fact, that we chose to not delay entering this market until we could build a new facility, but rather found a suitable location to establish our presence right away,” said Joseph Sheffield, Savannah branch manager. “This is our first step, but we have plans to move forward with a large design-build facility within the next two years. Our staff is a professional group of seasoned veterans with an average tenure of more than 15 years. They are local experts in equipment rentals, sales, parts and service. We look forward to introducing customers to the full-service difference here at H&E.”

In addition to equipment rentals, the facility provides new and used equipment sales, in-shop and mobile service, a comprehensive parts inventory, training and other value-added services.
