Hawthorne Cat, Cat equipment dealer in San Diego and the Pacific Region for more than 60 years, is expanding operations. Hawthorne Cat is seeking qualified applicants to fill a variety of positions from service technicians to management. Qualified candidates have the opportunity to work with Caterpillar — the world-renowned manufacturer of industry leading construction equipment, power generation and marine propulsion engines for nearly 100 years.

Qualified candidates can take part in ThinkBIG, the Caterpillar Dealer Service Technician Program. The ThinkBIG program offers college-level course work combined with on-the-job training. Upon completion, participants will earn an associate of science degree.

Jim Champany, corporate service operations manager, said, “The extensive 2-year ThinkBIG program is a terrific opportunity for technicians to jump-start their careers. ThinkBIG graduates are equipped to handle every day challenges in the shop or in the field.”

Champany continued, “All Hawthorne Cat technicians receive ongoing Cat certified training to ensure they have the skill set and up-to-date knowledge needed to service equipment properly.”

Available technician positions include engine service technician 1, machine service technician 2, and rental technician 2 in San Diego, Hawaii and Guam. Current management positions available include rental service manager, corporate finance manager, and service manager.
