Construction Equipment Guide

Hitachi Construction and Mining Products’s reduced tail-swing Zaxis 135US-3 excavator replaces the previous 135US model.

Incorporating Tier-III standards, the new 135 also comes with an enhanced operator environment. Low-effort, short-throw levers are easy to use and fingertip control reduces operator fatigue.

The multilingual wide-screen LCD color monitor provides maintenance, attachment and operational information. An optional air-suspension heated seat also is available.

The cab is prepped for auxiliary hydraulics. Due to regenerative hydraulics, arm roll-in and the boom lower/arm movement are faster. Travel speed has been increased and multifunction operations are smoother, because of the HIOS III system, which further enhances control.

The new ZX135US-3 also has greater horsepower and fuel economy. Some of the retained features which help reduce operating costs include WC thermal spraying (tungsten carbide) at the arm-bucket joint for greater wear resistance at its contact surface with the bucket and HN bushings.
