HOLT Crane & Equipment conducted its first open house at the new facility, located at 7010 North Loop East, Houston, Sept. 22. The event celebrated the partnership of the company and Link-Belt Crane.

The location in Houston is on seven acres with 55,000 sq. ft. under roof. Even though the weather did not co-operate, with torrential rains, more than 160 people attended. Nine machines were on display ranging from the RTC 80100 to the 550-ton Link-Belt 548 crane.

During lulls in the heavy rains, customers were able to view the machines up close and they were treated to displays from Laborde Products (Mitsubishi Engines), M&L Engine LLC (Isuzu Engines), The Crosby Group Inc., Bishop Lifting Products, Holloway Houston and Load Systems International inside one of the shops.

The University of Texas Arlington also presented a short seminar on crane safety. After opening remarks were made by CEO Peter Holt, and recognizing his father, B.D. Holt, a plentiful barbeque lunch and multiple door prizes were awarded. Peter Holt focused on customer service and their unparallel efforts in product support for all the equipment represented by HOLT Crane & Equipment. He also assured the visitors that the 1954 Chevrolet service truck that was on display had been retired and the current services trucks are late model with all the newest equipment needed to service the machines.

Scott McDougle, general manager, expressed his appreciation for everyone braving the weather to attend and assured the customers that he and his group would do everything they could to make sure the customers equipment was always working efficiently on the job-sites.

HOLT Crane & Equipment services the majority of Texas and southern New Mexico for Link-Belt Cranes. The company also is the authorized Izusu and Mitsubishi dealer for Houston, San Antonio and Dallas areas. HOLT maintains a full complement of parts in Houston, Dallas and San Antonio with smaller inventories in Austin, Waco, Longview and Fort Worth, Texas. At this time they boast over $600,000 in parts inventories with more being added each day. The company maintains seven service trucks on a 24/7 basis.
