Towmaster Trailers and Truck Equipment is one of several sponsors of a new hands-on, interactive and fun career exploration event that connects education and industry for high school sophomores in central Minnesota. "Ignite Your Future" is hosted by Ridgewater College in Hutchinson, Minn., and is geared toward contributing to the regional economic and workforce needs.
Students from 14 schools participated, allowing sophomores to explore a wide variety of careers, engaging with employers and learning about manufacturing and other local career choices.
"We work with our local schools and organizations to create awareness for the multitude of careers available for graduates right here in their local community." said Tonya Fuller, HR manager of Towmaster. "We want students to know that there are big opportunities locally for their future."
Several businesses and organizations participated in the "Ignite Your Future" event including Goebel Fixtures, Hicks Trucking Co., Launch Your Future Today (LYFT) Career Pathways Grant, McLeod County, Meeker Development Corporation, Southwest Initiative Foundation, SouthPoint Financial Credit Union, Towmaster Trailers and Truck Equipment, 3M, Achieve TFC, CareerForce, Central Minnesota Jobs and Training Service Inc., Hutchinson Area Chamber of Commerce, Hutchinson Health, Litchfield Area Chamber of Commerce, Mid-Minnesota Perkins Partnership, Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development, MITGI, Ridgewater College, Ridgewater College Foundation and United Way.
Monroe Truck Equipment Inc., founded in 1958, is a manufacturer and installer of products in the custom trailer; municipal snow and ice; and commercial work truck industries. It goes to market under its Towmaster and Monroe Truck Equipment brands through seven Midwest locations and distribution partners throughout the United States and Canada.
Towmaster manufactures equipment trailers and truck bodies. Trailers are produced for the construction, rental and utility markets. Truck bodies are produced for the snow and ice and municipal markets.
