The auction featured a great lineup of Caterpillar excavators. In addition to the Caterpillar machines on site, many other machines were sold via the Internet and shown in great detail on IronPlanet’s “Jumbotron.” The IronPlanet/Cat Auction Services temporary headquarters is seen here during its big February sale in Orlando. The IronPlanet/Cat Auction Services Florida auctions are not limited to Cat equipment — the sales also included a great lineup of cranes, lifts and attachments. Supply is getting smaller and the prices are heating up on all types of construction equipment, including this Caterpillar 735 articulated truck that drew a lot of attention.
This John Deere 844K-II wheel loader is sold! Steve Debaun, president, Track II Corporation, Lakeville, Minn., looks over these two Caterpillar 950K wheel loaders. Dave Kreis of IronPlanet shuttles prospective buyers across the sale site. While hundreds of bidders register to bid on site, thousands participate online. It’s February and if you live in Holland, Mich., you jump at the chance to go to Kissimmee, Fla. — a big auction filled with late-model Caterpillars makes that decision even easier. (L-R) are John Brewer of Don Hoe Excavation, and Jason Brewer and Jerry Brewer, both of BS&G Recycling. Here is one you do not see every day — an Ingram 12-ton, three-wheel compactor, probably made in the 1970s. Ready for a hugely successful Florida Auctions (L-R) are Randy Wynn, sales director-Coastal South region; Dave Kreis, sales director-Northeast region; Tom Ferguson, sales director-Florida region; and George Massey, sales director-Southeast region, all of IronPlanet. From Stowe, Vt., and just days after another dumping of snow, Robert Small (L) and Josh Allair are looking at loaders. Being in Florida does not seem like a coincidence for them. Dean Adsit (L), used equipment sales, Nortrax, and Brian Durfee, corporate used equipment manager, Nortrax, head into the IronPlanet/Cat Auction Services sale. Doug Bryan (L) of Bryan Heavy Equipment and Todd Summers of Summers Enterprises traveled from Iowa to check out the huge selection of late-model Caterpillar equipment.
This Caterpillar 960K is a great example of the outstanding Cat machines available at the sale.

IronPlanet/Cat Auction Services held their annual five-day sale from Feb. 13 to 17, 2017 in Orlando Fla.

Items up for bid on day one included skid steers, compact track loaders and backhoe loaders. Buyers were able to bid on motorgraders, artic trucks, crawler tractors and loaders on the second day of the auction.

On days three and four, items for sale included excavators, pavers and wheel loaders, with trucks and trailers the “theme” of day five. —CEG
