James River Equipment hosted a fundraising auction March 29 for the “Victory Junction Gang Camp” project, an all-inclusive care facility for children. The camp is the brainchild of North Carolina racing family, Richard and Kyle Petty.

Held in Greensboro, NC, the event raised $51,500 through auction items donated by James River Equipment. This included rental, service, autograph collectibles and a number of toy models.

The following morning, guests traveled to Randleman, NC, to tour Richard Petty’s racing shop and got a first-hand look at the building of a race car. The tour was followed by a stop at the Richard Petty museum, which houses the Petty family’s NASCAR race cars, uniforms and trophies as well as Petty’s extensive firearms collection.

The event concluded with a tour of the Victory Gang project and lunch, both attended by Richard Petty, who signed autographs and mingled with contractors.

“The event was more about giving back to the kids than than it was the equipment,” said Ronnie Rowe, James River general manager in Greensboro.

James River Equipment is the official equipment supplier of the Victory Junction project.
