JM Wood Auction Company Inc.'s multi-day sale at its headquarters in Montgomery, Ala., held on Sept. 12 and 13, was another huge success for this year.

Company representatives stated that there were bidders from 15 countries and 34 U.S. states who purchased more than $17 million of equipment. High on the list of items in demand were several 2008 Cat 725 trucks from a Cat dealer rental fleet and a number of 2012-2009 Mack GU713 tri-axel dumps from numerous government agencies.

"We had contractors from across the country here at the auction bidding on and buying equipment," said Vice President Bryant Wood. "We have been sending a lot of equipment overseas for the last 36 months, but contractors from across the country are coming to the auctions because they are at a point where they need to update their fleets or reposition their fleets to the work they have going on. It's very encouraging to see some of these contractors here at the auction whether they are buying equipment or not, they are bidding on it…and that's what we all want to see."
