Eight Southeast John Deere dealers (known as Team South) hosted a two-day extravaganza for more than 900 logging customers on April 11 and 12 in Charlotte, NC.

Guests arrived Friday, April 11 and were treated to dinner and entertainment. A “Log a Load for Kids” raffle also was held.

On Saturday, breakfast and industry presentations were held at the Cabarrus Arena. There, several Timberjack and John Deere machines were on display. After the presentations, guests were able to get a closer look at the machines. This was followed by demonstrations of the complete Timberjack and John Deere forestry line-up.

Some of the equipment in the demonstration included the Timberjack 460D skidder, the Timberjack 608S and the John Deere 2054.

The Team South dealers consisted of Industrial Tractor Co., Highland Tractor, Metrac, Van Lott Inc., James River Equipment, R.W. Moore and Standard Equipment. The Team South dealers were offering logging companies a one-stop source in the southeast for all their equipment needs including parts and machine sales and ease of service. The companies teamed up for the event in an effort to better the service to these logging companies.

After the demonstrations, where Deere and Timberjack iron delimbed and cut trees to specific sizes, a lunch was served.

The dealers reported many sales as a result of the two-day event.
